Salmon River, Chair Creek Waves

Playspot: USA, Idaho, Salmon River, Chair Creek Waves

What's it like

chaircreekwaves.jpg (30749 bytes)

It's a large breaking wave, which surges between glassy and breaking (the waves are about 8 feet at peak crest before they break down to about 6 feet, then rebuild).

There is an extremely large eddy (about 100 yards long) on river right.

How to get there

Take highway 95 north out of Riggins Idaho along the Salmon. Approximately 2 miles north of the bridge at the north side of town is where Chair Creek (a trickle) flows in to the Salmon from the right.

The parking area is on the right side of the road.
