Porog Bolshoi Toll

Playspot: Russia, St Petersburg, Porog Bolshoi Toll.

What's it like

High Water

The spot is mainly a hole. Big water starts when the snow melts and lasts until the beginning of June usually. Spins, cartwheels and other freestyle moves can be performed. The water is really fast and the hole rather flushy.

Low Water

From June until mid-July it is medium water. The best time for practicing. The hole is about 15m long, soft and fluffy . Low water level lasts until the rains comes back in autumn.

How to get there

401 km (this is Russia !) from St-Petersburg taking the Musmanskoe Shosse. When in Matrosi village head to the river and you are in there. Bring tents with you! There are no hotels/accomodation near by.

Locals

Fishermen, rafters, kayakers and friendly locals. There is always someone playing in there at the weekends.

Events

Regular freestyle competitions.
