Jacques-Cartier River, Rouleau du President
Playspot: Canada, Quebec, Jacques-Cartier River, Rouleau du President.
What's it like
One of the most famous holes in Quebec, on the Jacques-Cartier River. It is runnable whenever there is rain, but take care: the hole gets very beefy at high water! Great for cartwheels. There is also a wave on river right of the hole. Hole right is very nasty and will windowshade you easily.
How to get there
From Montreal: Take 40 East through Trois Rivieres. About 80 kms east of Trois Rivieres look for a sign saying Pont Rouge/Neuville. Follow this road through Pont Rouge. At the stop light, there will be a church on your left. After the church, turn right at the sign for Plein Aire Danserau. If you have gone over a bridge you have gone too far. The road comes to a T (after the rail road tracks). Take a right at the T intersection. The take the next left (all the while following the arrows for Plein Aire Danserau. Go to the end of this road, the Centre in straight ahead. There is a parking lot on your right, turn into it. Near the back left corner of the parking lot there is a dirt road which parallels the river. Follow this a few hundred meters, and park in any of the turn outs on the left. Hike down to the river and paddle up a bit (200-300 meters) The hole will be directly in front of you. The river as a whole is only class I-II.
