Fun is not just for kids
I am a 49 yo female paddler with about 15 years experience. I consider myself to be a solid Class III (occasional IV-) paddler. I am also an ACA certified instructor.
I have had my Fun 1.5 for two seasons and simply love it.
It is like a cork, bobbing about. Being really light, narrow and extremely responsive, it is really easy for a smaller person to handle. I anticipate that I'd just use it on easy runs to increase my comfort with being tossed around, upside down, on end, etc., but I actually prefer it most of the time, and find it behaves predictably and is easy to control. Slightly edged, it ferries and carves well.
Friends comment that I have a s...-eating grin stuck on my face when paddling this boat, and I notice chuckle in my throat.
This boat is not just of kids - I am nearly 50 and couldn't be happier with it. I also enjoy people's astonishment about how tiny it is (we sat it in the front seat of a Honda Civic when we collected it), and, if I have any legs, where on earth are they?
Good on you Jackson Kayaks, what a blast to have a boat small enough and suitable for a little old lady - even if it was designed for kids!
