French Alpes will be a little bit too early that time of year, end of april even is tricky to go there. But if it rains a lot it's always good. But do not expect too much of the melting snow.
Chances for Soca are better. But also there it can be early.
There is a lot of snow on the Kanin mountain, they say. So there will be water.
Currently, I saw at www.kajak.at , the Soca level is OK.
From there you can also travel north to austria if Soca is too High. Class 3-4 paddling is no problem there (about 3-4 day trips on that level)
