Hello down there.

just putting out a curiousity question.

Im originally from the UK but live in the US (dual citizen). I am thinking about leaving the states and checking out a different locale... how do you like life in Australia/NZ and how is the job market?

Im a Paramedic/Flight Paramedic inthe states.

Thanks and hopefully I will see you on the river.

Hi Laddie, I moved to NZ from South Africa 6 years ago and have not had a moments regret. The paddling especially is awesome, quite incredible that such a small country can have so many good rivers. Get hold of Graham Charles's book White Water of New Zealand - 125 great kayaking runs to get yourself excited.

Unemployment is down to 2 or 3 % and so there are heaps of jobs available. Check out for jobs on these websites for jobs in your field:
www.trademe.co.nz
www.seek.co.nz

Good luck.

Hey...over here in the west of aus we are reaching recored lows for unemployment aswell

However...good luck finding any good water to paddle on at the moment a lot of the country is in drought and we are fighting with the west australian government to replace our slalom course that was lost due to a dam being created...whitewater paddling isn't all that good in the west right now

good jobs though!

I don't know what a flying paramedic is, but maybe you could try www.flyingdoctor.net/

I'm sure if you're qualified, you'd be able to find work pretty easy. My mate is an ambo driver in VIC. Apparently they get the best pay down there!
