Amazon River by Kayak 9 years 11 months ago #35651

Dear Friends,

My name is Rinaldo Furtado. I lived 18 years in the Amazon and I spent 11 years of this time as a guide in the amazon rain forest. I’ve worked as a freelancer for different companies in the beginning and owned an adventure sports tour company at the last years, which the flagship was the kayak tours we’ve offered in different rivers around Manaus (the capital of Amazonas State).

The reason I’m posting this message is because I’m planning a kayak tour along the Amazon River around next September – October. It’ll be a long and challenger adventure, which I plan to go from Manaus to the river’s mouth in around 30 days, covering about 1.500km (930mi). The idea is to paddle during the day and camp at night by the river side or try the nice welcoming of the local river dwellers along the way…

I’m able to organize some cabo horn fiber glass kayaks (rent from a local company) and food, as well as, a support motorized boat, which will provide a scort of a local river expert the entire trip.

This way, I’m looking for the ones that have an open and adventure spirit to share this lifetime experience. For someone who could be interested in this possibility, just contact me on rinaldovf@gmail.com
