AH the Chilliwack River...
where fishermen are a bigger hazard in eddies than wood is in the drops...:cursing:

I try my hardest to SHARE the river. Be polite, try not hang out in the best fishing hole/eddy all day, avoid lines, and such....

reminds me of one afternoon when about 10 kayakers showed up sametime to park and play a wave that was also a very popular fishing hole... fortunately, it was a long enough eddy, and the fishermen were sober, and easily entertained (\"watch your lines, swimmer coming down!...\")

Well, ive never encountered any angry fisherman paddling, and never had any problem with them, but i've been pretty pissed off with other paddlers breaking into designated fishing lakes, splashing and scaring the fish while my my mates and I have been fishing, expecially as there is a canal verty close by. Moral of the story is, ive seen from first hand experience why some fishermen
dont like kayakers very much.

I have whilst with a group of youngster get shouted out by angry fisher man who seemed to be having a bad day. Other times we have had people casting at us, others have had their tyres let down after being shouted at by fisherman whilst paddling rivers.

But have also met several nice friendly fisher men and one was last weekend when paddling the Usk it was floating nicely and one guy fishing waved us by.
