would the Pyranha 230 be good for a New Kayaker on flat water (rivers, salt marsh)?

if you have the ambition to proceed to whitewater later on, than the Inazone will be fine. If you plan to stick to flatwater, you should probably get something faster (longer), I would say at least a touring boat.

How about in the surf? Up to now I have only used a sit on top and guess that i'm a beginner really. Would the Pyranha be suitable for me as am looking to get myself a lighter surfing kayak.
Thanks

The Inazone is fine for surfing as a beginner. I had a Inazone 240 years ago and had a great time surfing an flatspinning on the waves:dance:
Ofcourse now a days there are better boats, but as a beginner you will have a good start in the Inazone:)

Yes, depending on your weight, the Inazone is an excellent surfer and fun boat.
Being a very successful design, the Inazone still lives in the newer Z.One boats by Pyranha. The only downside of the older Inazones is the lack of legroom (today's boats have higher cockpits, allowing for a higher knee position). If you exceed 6" or 200 lbs (or both) the Inazone 230 isn't for you.
