Hey everyone, well i would really like to get into kayaking, and just want opinions from everyone. After looking at new kayaks they are not a possibilty and until ive done it more i dont think a new one is the way to go really, so i would like to know where's the best place to look for CHEAP used kayaks, also there seem to be alot of different things available(accesories) for kayaking etc. and i would like to know what you need need when you first start obviously there are things that you like and are better to have but intially what do you actually require to go out on a river? any help would be much appreciated

hey
a good website for secondhand boats is www.aswatersports.co.uk, have a look at the boat classifieds list.
to start with all you really need is; a boat (unless you can borrow one from someone until you get into it properly) , paddle, spraydeck, bouyancy aid, and someone to instruct you.
also have a look on the BCU website to find your local club who will be happy to welcome you to the sport. :grin:

The lil Hippy Offline Senior Member Posts: 22 Thank you received: 0	well all u really need is boat, paddle, buoyancy aid and a helmet u don't really need a spray deck until u are getting gd and start trying to roll and Eskimo rescues. and i would look on www.roho.co.uk/canoe/canoeing_offers.html and look at the used boats. other wise theres allways cheap kayaks on this sight. hope this is helpful.
