For sale a StipYaks Kajett fast sleek touring kayak. Polyester/glass layup as was standard back when the boat was made.

It has seen some small repairs but it is still watertight and lightweight. Repairs are visible but not very disturbing IMO. It is a used boat after all. Paddles like a dream, fast, feels almost like a racing kayak, only much more stable.

Includes original StipYaks spraydeck, transportation deck, roofrack mounts ("kayakbeugels") and an airbag to prevent sinking in case you swim.

For those who do not know about the Kajett, it was a design by Peter van Stipdonk, former 15+ times Dutch National Slalom Champion. Basically it is a cross between a flatwater racing kayak and a sea kayak. It has a small cockpit and can be rolled, yet provides plenty of room for your legs/knees to use a flatwater racing technique.

After the StipYaks company closed down the mold was sold to Arend Bloem (www.arendbloem.nl, one of the biggest Dutch kajak shops) and is now available as the Eagle Kajett. For a picture, look here: www.arendbloem.nl/images/kajak/16.jpg.

To be honest, I lke the boat a lot but I need the room so it can go for the low price of 200 euro's. Trade (in) of a flatwater racing C1 or a wing paddle (pref. splittable, carbon, length 2.18 - 2.20) is negotiable. Please remember, the boat is 795 new, without goodies.
