Why dont you try a jackson fun or maybe the 4fun, theyre billed as riverunning playboats which is exactly what they are. Ive taken the 2fun down class 4, and also have stern sqirted and surfed it to death.(learning to cartwheel) Rolls great out fittings good, id say all around a great boat.

A diesel is probaly a great boat for you. It can puch any thing and is user friendly. Draw backs could be it does not build skill. In a large boat, one never learns to edge the boat. Certain skills are not needed in a large boat. In a playboat though one learns all the skills and is penalized if they don;t learn them. I live in an area were there is great river surfing, so i do a lot of that. I love to surf and therefore I prefer a playbboat. if you have no interest in surfing get a diesel. BY the way, please no one write Diesel's are great surfing boats, they don't surf like a playboat!!

good luck

I tried H3, Mamba, Nomad and Huck.

Nomad was to big, it's nice for big holes and stuff like that, but it's not really for technical stuff. Mamba and H3 are pretty much the same if you ask me. they're both fast, nice for paddling and all. Less stable than Nomad, but more fun.

Huck was really nice. Fast, really forgiving and all. It's a bit shorter and yes it's a bit similar to running a playboat, so maybe that's why i liked it.

I defenitely recomend it for the Soca, but generally all your choices are good. The fact is: you have to try them!
