New boat decisions??? 11 years 8 months ago #33060

Hey guys and gals....
I've been paddling my old ina-zone for a while now and I am just too big for it.
I'm after a new boat but am unsure which way to turn.
I need something that I am going to be comfortable in most of the day while I coach and something that I can throw down some big water every now and then when I get the chance and maybe a bit of play time while I'm there.
When money is a bit more forthcoming I will probably buy something a bit more freestylee for when i wanna play but until then I'm looking for something that will serve me for a fair while, wont break the bank and will be good for a lot of flat water coaching.
My research has led me to a few options; Pyranha Burn/Karnali, Dagger Mamba, Jackson Super Hero, LL Remix, Wavesport D-series and the Big Dog Flux.
What are your thoughts out there???
I am 6'3" and weigh bout 115kg but I am working it down to my target of about 100kgs.

Also I am selling my Ina-Zone 242. 2005 model in blue and white. its in great condition with only minor scratches on the hull. What sort of price do the fetch these days?

Any/all of your suggestions will work for you. But then the real answer is, demo a few boats, then make choices from that. There is no "best" boat. That is why we have so many models to choose from. Factors will include where you paddle, what you paddle, what your paddling style is, your personal ergonomics etc.
I know you are probably after a definitive answer on a particular boat, But if I were in your situation, I would make my choices on what is available in my locality within my budget. Then from that list I would do a few demos and make a personal choice from there.

I'd suggest you try the big Wavesport Diesel or Dagger Mamba. These two boats, especially in the older versions are solid all around contenders that you can usually find on the used market for great prices. They also work well as basic creekboats, as you mentioned you might be adding a small playboat to the quiver in a bit.

Your Inazone in good used shape in the US would probably sell for $200 or less.

When kayaking, it is important to choose the best paddle for yourself. Paddleboy Kayak Cart come in many different shapes, sizes, and weights. Each different kind of paddle has a specific advantage, and choosing the best one primarily depends on your body. Some things that affect which paddle you will want to choose are your height, weight, and upper-body strength. It will also depend on the location you are kayaking at.
