I'm about to get my first c-1 boat. It's a slalom boat. What are the factors when choosing a c-1 slalom paddle, what length do most people use, or is it height dependent, I'm 6' or 1.83m

thanks

HI

Ollie is right. I' m 175 cm long and use 141-143 freestyle blades and 145 slalom blade. Shorter paddle is a bit easier to paddle from the ofside for starters.

When looking for a slalom blade look for good action in water. 2 best ones I know are Galasport 3m and Drakkar (shortened 3m).

Hi Ollie,
I paddle only WW and Freestyle but therefor I use a 135cm Ergo Kevlar/carbon Spiderpaddle (I'm 182cm). The short length allow me fast crossover strokes and it relieve my shoulder. When I start C1 paddling I used longer Paddles but I always had pain in my shoulder. A friend (Orthopaedist) gave me the advice using a shorter Paddle and it works.

I'm 167cm(66"). Should I get a 125cm(49") paddle or a 135cm(53") paddle or split the difference and go with 130cm(51").
