May 27 Social Instagram Stand Up Paddling (SUP) Standup paddleboarding - Phetchaburi Province, Cha Am, Thailand Playlist 'Stand Up Paddling (SUP)': http://bit.ly/2p9j9lr Stand up paddle surfing and stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is an offshoot of surfing that originated in Hawaii. Unlike traditional surfing where the rider sits until a wave comes, stand up paddle boarders stand on their boards and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water. The sport was documented in a 2013 report that identified it as the outdoor sporting activity with the most first-time participants in the United States. Variations include flat water paddling for outdoor recreation, fitness, or sightseeing, racing on lakes, large rivers and canals, surfing on ocean waves, paddling in river rapids (whitewater SUP), Paddle board yoga and even fishing. Stand up paddlers wear a variety of wet suits and other clothing, depending on water and air temperature since most of their time is spent standing on the board. A related, traditional sport, paddleboarding, is done kneeling on a board and paddling with the hands, similar to a butterfly swimming stroke. The term 'paddleboarding' is sometimes incorrectly used to refer to stand up paddle surfing. Historian and writer Steve West claimed that the contemporary notion of stand up paddle boarding, if attributed to the Waikiki Beach Boys of Oahu during the 1960s, considers that outrigger canoeing should be recognised as the direct link between the idea of standing on a board and propelling it with a canoe paddle, since the individual SUP skills (board riding and paddling) already existed, used by people who had traditionally grown up learning them. Stand Up Paddle board (SUP) – has taken over the worlds water sports by storm. Hawaï, Australia, France, England, California and now Thailand have been the traditional leaders, now we see paddle board spreading through the waterways and the media in every country. #StandUpPaddling #SUP #Standuppaddleboarding #youtube #video https://youtu.be/JyIrKU_fvmA

Mar 14 News SUP Mag UK History Lesson – UK Stand Up Paddle Boarding 10 Years+ On
Jan 20 Social Instagram First views of our 2016 Vortex 14' Flat Water Race Board. Tested by UK National Champion Ryan James, shaped by Chris Diplock from Diplock Shapes Cornwall and design management by Steve West, the Vortex in testing has posted solid average speeds using GPS instrumentation and comparisons with other leading race boards. Developing a fast, but forgiving flat to choppy water performance board is no easy task. Critically it must be high performing, but not so inherently unstable to be unrideable. What we have achieved here is truely world class, as it features all the necessary design attributes required for limiting drag so as the paddler requires less effort for greater speed gains. We are expecting great results with this board - with great looks and performance we are onto a winner. Ryan James will race this board where conditions are appropriate, meanwhile we shall be working on graphics and subtle refinements to be able to deliver a finished product sometime in the second half of 2015. #teammistral #xtreme507  #sup #panama #pty #standuppaddle #sup #fit #race #suprace  #supzonetv #supzoneview #supsurf #surf #watersport #xtreme #sport #windsup #mistral #isup #yoga #supyoga #fitness #seajunjys #vitaminsea #machetesurf #boardambulance #panama°°
