The Space Cadet is the next generation in playboats for liquidlogic, yet fits into our current hot line of short boats.

The Space Cadet is the shortest playboat to date for us, which makes it even easier to throw around and get into the air. It fits paddlers in the in-between weight range of 150-190. We maximized the volume in this 5’ 11" boat giving it lots of foot room and plenty of space around the knees to lift yourself out of the water and into whatever cool contortion you can imagine. We also increased the spin surface which makes it looser and gives a larger platform for launching wave moves.
This is where it’s going; more fun, more comfort, easier to paddle.

• Big planing surface: Makes the boat loose and bouncy

• 7.5 inches of rocker, bow and stern: Releases ends for easy spins

• Double release edges: Increases edge speed for dynamic blunts

• Flex Capacitor backband: Ratchet system for in-seat adjustment and maximum control

• Insta-fit Foot Cushion: A custom fit foot cushion in just seconds

• Stiffy-Hull system: Safety, stiffness, control

• Security Bars by Black Diamond: 7000 series aluminum for maximum strength

• Integrated wall supports: Increases lateral wall stability

• Easily adjustable seat and thigh braces: Custom fit and trim

• Hip Hugger outfitting: No hassle outfitting for comfort and control

• Newly designed seat with waterbottle holder: More comfort and control

If your thinking of buying one of these boats be aware that it can be a little sluggy. The mega flat bottom to this boat means it feels free and mobile on the wave :)

Enjoy

About Me
I've been paddling a few years now and wanted a boat to catch all the waves I wanted and to get vertical. I'm about 80kg and 6ft 1 and find this boat cumfy as a boat could be!
Pros / The Good
Cumfy, easily catches waves of all sizes. Large front kicker ideal for looping
Cons / The Bad
Tricky to get vertical at first, through double pumping etc.

Good Allround, Hard for Beginners

About the reviewer

I paddle regularly on small whitewater and flat water I enjoy playboating, river running and general paddling trips

Test environment

Man made Whitewater, Weirs and Flatwater

Review

A fairly good intermediate level boat excellent for getting air and looping however for beginners getting vertical and cartwheeling are extremely hard work . Fairly responsive a good all round boat especially for the prices today ( I managed to get mine for £210 off Ebay)

Conclusion

A good deal for anywhere under £260 if you learn the basics in this you'll be able to do them in pretty much anything

Good boat a bit slow.

About myself

So i've been a raft guide for years but have just started kayaking in the last year. The space Cadet is the first short playboat that i have ever own. So far i really enjoy it. Seems like i can surf any wave of any size on the river. The only complaint i have is that it's a bit slow compared to the other play boats i have paddled. Also, the backband sits a little low. Besides this i would give it an 8.5 out of 10.

About the test environment

River running below 5000 CFS, and some creeks.
