Maybe hire a local guide to take us kayak fishing/camping on a river somewhere.

I’ll send you Al’s phone number right now, Sonny.
I’ve been avoiding this post since I realized that I couldn’t go. Bummed out because I was really looking forward to this. I bet you guys have fun.

Well that was a fun weekend and thanks to all that made it!  It's truly a different experience to boat in camp by kayak with your friends to and pretty much have a whole lake to yourselves.  I got there right at sunrise, and made it through the inspection process paid my fees and then unloaded and got setup to make my first trip to the camp.  Overloaded my yak and my center hatch was underwater taking on water, so I peddled my butt off to get there before filling up too much  :smt044 Offloaded my stuff and setup my tent and then back on a nice long troll, enjoying some very warm and spring like weather.  Chad showed up soon as I finished my first troll run, and I got my second load and headed up to camp with him.  Andy radioed he and his crew was there, and Chad and I went back to help "schlepp" their stuff to the camp with them.  We all got setup, and enjoyed the camp fishing from shore while others radioed they were there and on their way.

Here's the embarrassing part...  At some time in the afternoon a ranger drove up and wanted to chat. He had to let us know that we were at the wrong campsite.  :smt118  It my fault, and total mistake on my part, but he said we could stay the night at Hetch Hetchy, but that it's reserved for Saturday night, so we would need to move.  The other site, that I actually paid for, is a bit further, up around the bend, has very little shore access, and is up on top of a hill.  It's actually a really nice site with lots of shade, although no water source.  We packed up all of our stuff and schlepped it another half mile to this camp and had to re-set up everything.  We helped each other do schlepping runs, and then once relocated we had a great time enjoying the campsite.  Thus we will have to rename this event to the Schlepp and Chill  :smt044

Weather was incredible all weekend during the day just warm and sunny and only some minor winds and a fairly cold night Friday.  Sonny somehow forgot his tent, and we made him some shelter for the night but he was  :cold   :smt009  What a trooper though!  Gibby caught a nice size striper, will have a video later of it.  We fished from the shore all night long but Gibbs had the only bite.  After relocating camp to the new spot it was basically chill time, we relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Cooked an incredible amount of meat, enjoyed dutch oven dump cake, cinnamon rolls, bacon wrapped brussel sprouts, kimchi fried rices, eggrolls, garlic ginger chicken skewers, tri-tip, skirt steak, bbq ribs, and then the meat kabobs.   :fat

Oh man, what a great time!  Camping in the wrong site was just classic, we were having too much fun to even care.  :smt005

Thanks Al and everyone that put this together.  I didn't catch the name of the 2 guys I ran into at the ramp on Sat mentioning they couldn't get their yaks inspected.  Sorry they couldn't make it work.

What a wonderful weekend camping and hanging with friends.  While unpacking camping gears and setting up tent, I realized the box only got the poles and the tent was not in it!  Thanks to Mike (Andy's brother) who brought a hammock so I ended-up sleeping in the hammock that night.  Fishing was slow but Gibbs, Andy, and I caught some fish.  The food was awesome and the weather was nice.  Would do this again in a heart beat.

Did you guys cook the fish? I realized half-way back to the marina that I gave you guys everything but the tortillas!  :smt011

I'm still wrecked. I even look like shit in those pictures. A bowl of chicken and rice that I ate last night is the first and only thing I've eaten since Thursday.

I haven't even unloaded my truck yet.
