Electric motorcycles.  Keep off the beaches and trails.  I saw one ripping up a dirt trail uphill going 25 mph while the actual mountain bikers struggled.  It's just a motorcycle.  Keep to the OHV parks please.

Where can I get one that can maintain 25 mph while ripping up a dirt hill?  Aren’t they speed limited to 20 mph on the flats?  The Rad Rovers I have certainly aren’t going to be ripping up a trail under any circumstances.

If you want to run 20mph up a hill, you are not welcome in my area

There's a hack to increase the maximum speed on Rad bikes.  I think they can be increased to 25 MPH but 20 is fast enough for this OG.  As far as climbing hills goes, I'm pretty sure pedaling is about the only way to maintain speed.  My neighborhood is pretty hilly and the bike is able to climb all of the grades but it does slow down if you don't pedal to assist the motor.

Makes sense that QK bikes r getting specops consideration.  VSTO is a huge federal contractor

i've built a bunch of these things...last one was a Yuba mundo with a bafung middrive. I also live at the top of a stupidly steep (23%) grade road.

the one thing to consider, unless you live in the total flat lands, is look for an ebike that is a mid drive, rather than a rear or front hub drive. The hub drives are cheaper, but they'll struggle on any hills that are even remotely steep-- UNLESS you can keep the rear wheel turning relatively quickly.  Electric motors are most efficient in a rather narrow RPM range. With a middrive you control the cadence - and therefore motor RPM  - independent of rear wheel RPM (bike gears duh).
middrive will give you more chance at dragging gear around in soft stuff.

Knowing how electronics and salt love each other, i'd be paranoid about cleaning it afterwards.  Probably even put dialectric grease on the batter connections and make sure things are as waterproof as possible.  But have a cheap pressure washer that would clean it in a few minutes, so not too worried about keeping it clean.

Not recommended to blast bikes with pressure washers- especially an e-bike. it forces water into a lot of places it shouldn't be like greased joints and bearings. it will pound sand and salt further into your bike rather than off of it.
a hose and a brush is the best bet. strip and relube chain after use because it will have sand and salt clinging to it.
Hear you there, but this pressure washer is actually pretty useless (dont buy the cheapest one on amazon expecting much) and I just mean it's a quick way to rinse off, but it probably shouldn't be directed at the electronics and such.

on a separate note, Ebikes are the new target of ecological stewards.. we don't need to give them another reason to attack fishermen and revoke access to public lands..
I hear you there too.  I don't believe I'll be giving anyone any reasons to attack anyone, as I'm not looking to be near anyone in the first place and am always respectful and safe.

If bikers would stay off mountain roads like where I live, with no shoulder, blind curves, wearing all black clothing, no lights on, in the early morning while driving into the sun, then I might listen to your suggestion about where I can ride a bike. Thanks.

Bit of false equivalency, don't you think?  "Eow, bicyclists do that so I should do this!"  Do it if yo want but don't try to justify it like that.
True.  I was just responding with my thoughts on bicyclists that do things I consider dangerous and stupid, but they are free to do as they wish within the law, and I shall to.  My lawyer says it's fine  :smt044

Hey Tote, is that your camo bike? If so, what brand, and do you like it?
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Yes it is.
Lectric XP.
Did the camo paint myself.
For the price I love it. Could I get more for an extra $6K, sure. Would not be worth it to me.
Best bang for the buck. They came out with a step thru model that I would get over this one only because gettin' old sucks.

My dad rides one daily and gets hassled by park Rangers for being on trails with a motorized vehicle.

He tells them it’s a “mobility device”. 🙄

Wife and I have Aventon brand Aventure bikes.  Hers is step-thru, mine is Step-over.  We love them and take them everywhere.  Evening neighborhood rides average 10 miles.  Destination rides between 20 and 30 miles.
Priced under$2,000 each.

Anyone have experience with an ebike that has a rear seat?  I'm looking for one to use mainly as a kid hauler to and from school.  Where we live, lots of hills.  250-300lbs combined.

The factory rack on the Aventon Aventure is rated for 55 pounds.  When looking around, confirm the rack rating.  This would be more than enough for a child bike seat for most kids up to age 8.
